la rara is a small, boutique business based in Sydney, Australia. Specialising in screen printed greetings cards, notebooks, gift tags, note cards, postcards, invitations and bespoke social stationery. Each item is individually created by hand, one by one.All stationery is designed by Lara Raymond using a wide range of vintage and modern images, illustrations and typography. Items are screen printed by hand using a Japanese Gocco machine in small runs of approximately one hundred or fewer editions. New designs are constantly being added and you can keep up with these by joining our mailing list, or following us on twitter or facebook. la rara began in early 2009 after a life long ardour for stationery, sending cards on every occasion (and non-occasion), and a love of making images. After discovering the world of Gocco, these all combined to create a new business with the aim to make a range of unique stationery that will make people smile whether they sent, kept or framed.
The paper used in the cards and envelopes is sourced from a paper mill that has internationally recognised environmental standards and an ongoing commitment to the conservation of natural resources. Fibre used in the production of the paper is sourced from pulp suppliers that practice sustainable forestry techniques and/or manage renewable plantation forests. No harmful chlorine gases are used in the paper bleaching process. The Elemental Chlorine Free process uses chlorine dioxide.
